Director of Development

Dena Vongchanh joins us with over 7 years of combined experience in sales and nonprofit fundraising, specializing in donor communications, CRM data management, and relationship building. Prior to her current role, she spearheaded the Major Gifts and Data Quality programs at Family Giving Tree and developed a broad range of skills during her tenure at City of Dreams as the Development and Marketing Manager.

Rooted in her own life experiences, Dena’s drive is twofold: as a cancer survivor, she understands the critical importance of support during life’s most challenging times; and as the daughter of a Laotian refugee, she has witnessed the complexities and obstacles of navigating life and higher education in America as a first-generation individual. These formative experiences deeply motivate her to advocate for the success of individuals and students from groups that are often overlooked or inadequately supported.

In addition to her work at SRA, she sits on the board of the Association of Fundraising Professionals Golden Gate chapter as one of the Marketing and Communications Chairs. Her hobbies include digital illustration, podcasts, and travel. She enjoys spending the majority of her time with her partner and pup in the beautiful Santa Cruz mountains.
