Angela Bugayong

Chief Program Officer

Angela Bugayong’s entire professional career has been focused on closing the degree divide, on education equity and making sure that students, especially students from marginalized communities, have access to similar if not the same opportunities as their higher income peers. Most recently, for nearly 3 years, she worked for the College Board in the Access Learning Lab where we took ideas, skills and passion and turned them into scalable solutions that have the most impact on student access outcomes. Prior to the College Board, she successfully managed complex programs, initiatives and partnerships that had significant outcomes at a nonprofit focused on college access and success for students in Ward 7 & 8 in Washington DC.

Angela’s mother immigrated to Los Angeles from the Philippines and joined the US Airforce a year after her birth. Angela’s grandparents raised her and her younger sister while their mother focused on her career and instilled the importance of hardwork and education. She has a Masters in Education from the University of Phoenix and a Nonprofit Management Executive Certificate from Georgetown University’s McCourt School of Public Policy and a Bachelors of Arts in Political Science with a focus in Public Administration from California State University, Los Angeles.
