Chief Executive Officer

Elizabeth Jordan Devaney comes to Students Rising Above with more than 25 years of nonprofit leadership experience in the field of human services. Her work in YMCAs across Wisconsin, Arizona, and California yielded a variety of critical initiatives promoting youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility in diverse communities. As a homeschooling parent, Elizabeth witnessed firsthand the obstacles faced by students in challenging situations, and believes that education must be made available and accessible through a variety of means if our society is to maximize the strengths of all of its people.

Elizabeth holds a Master of Public Administration with honors and Certificate of Public Policy from the University of Southern California’s Sol Price School of Public Policy, and a Bachelor of Science in Corporate Exercise Management from the University of Wisconsin. She lives in Redwood City with her husband, their two children, and an assortment of dogs, hermit crabs, and fish.
