College Admissions Counselor

Vanessa joined Students Rising Above as a College Admissions Counselor in the summer of 2022. As a Bay Area native and first generation college student, Vanessa attended San Jose State University, where she received her B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Child Development in 2015. With a passion for guiding and supporting youth to achieve their full potential, both in their personal and academic lives, she then went on to receive her M.A. in School Counseling from Brandman University in 2019. She started her career as a school counselor in Arizona before relocating back to the Bay Area at the start of 2022. She looks forward to supporting SRA students along their college journey.
