Mary Gomez, College and Career Advisor

Mary Gomez was born and raised in Merced, CA. She graduated from California State University of Fresno with her bachelors in Social Work and a minor in Gerontology along with a certificate in Cross Cultural Competency. While at Fresno State Mary was working with AVID students and was a part of Fresno States Social Work honors society and their Trabajadores De La Raza club. After Mary graduated from Fresno State she realized what she was passionate about was working with college students, specifically first generation college students who need guidance assimilating to college. Mary has recently graduated from Sacramento State with a masters in Career Counseling. During graduate school Mary was working as an advisor for college students and was a part of Chi Sigma Sigma, Sacramento States Counseling honors society. She hopes to be able to continue to advocate for college students, provide support and helpful resources for students as a College and Career Advisor at Students Rising Above.
