Thank You For Supporting Our Future Leaders at The 16th Annual Students Rising Above Gala!

We were overjoyed by the outpouring of support from nearly 600 guests, who joined us for an inspiring and festive evening at our 16th Annual Students Rising Above Gala, celebrating 20 Years of Redefining the Future

This year, we were honored to welcome Mayor London Breed, 45th Mayor of San Francisco, who opened the evening’s program with remarks of inspiration and hope, to our 75 high school seniors, who will be the first in their families to attend college next fall.

SRA Alum, former NFL athlete and Lead Pastor at Bay City Church, Eddie Williams, shared his gratitude for the SRA community and the impact it has had on his life. He took a moment to speak directly to the current SRA students, but inspired the whole room in the process, when he shared lessons learned from the challenges he faced along the way.

“Be present. Do not let your pain rob you of today like it did your past. Fight for today’s moments. Being present allows you to celebrate your growth and celebrate the people around you. You cannot truly celebrate if you are not truly present. Celebrate more and fight for each moment.”

As volunteers, mentors, donors, and partners of Students Rising Above, thank you for investing in our students and believing in their futures. Without your support, SRA would not be making such remarkable impact and helping even more students change their lives through education. Together we are making the world a better place – thank you!

We invite you to mark your calendars now for the 17th Annual Students Rising Above Gala — March 19, 2020!
