A Bay Area native and first-generation college graduate, Vanessa earned her B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Child Development from San Jose State University in 2015. Driven by a passion for empowering students, she continued her academic journey, earning an M.A. in School Counseling from Brandman University in 2019. Vanessa’s career began as a school counselor in Arizona, where she gained valuable experience supporting students through their academic and personal growth. In 2022, she returned to the Bay Area, and joined Students Rising Above as a College Admissions Counselor where she has continued to dedicate herself to helping students unlock their full potential. Vanessa is excited to guide and support SRA students as they navigate their college journey, helping them thrive both academically and personally.
