Born and raised in the Bay Area, Gaspar is a first generation college graduate dedicating his career to service. In 2022 Gaspar graduated from San Jose State University with a degree in Political Science. In 2023 Gaspar joined UC Berkeley’s Destination College Advising Corp and Early Academic Outreach Program, serving as a college advisor at Castlemont High School in East Oakland. Working in the educational sector made Gaspar impassioned at the prospect of continuing his studies in the field, as such he found himself applying and later getting accepted into U.C. Berkeley’s Education M.A. program, focused on Critical Studies of Race, Class and Gender, while still serving at Castlemont High School for East Bay Consortium. Gaspar is excited to join Students Rising Above and aspires to bring success to all students of color aspiring for higher education and fulfilling careers.
