April Rojas

Pre-College Bridge Advisor

April Rojas was born in East Los Angeles and raised in East Oakland. She attended the University of California, Berkeley where she received a bachelor’s degree in Media Studies. As an undergraduate, her love for college access blossomed as a result of the support she received through Berkeley’s Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) and her work as a high school college advisor with East Bay Solano County Consortium (EBSCC). Having been the first in her family to attend college, April holds a deep commitment to supporting other first-generation students and their families as they navigate systems of higher education. April previously worked for UC Berkeley’s TRIO Talent Search program where she provided college and career advising to 9-12 grade first-gen, low-income students at Oakland High School. After federal funding for the program was discontinued, April joined SRA as a Pre-College Bridge Advisor where she continues to support a cohort of 12th grade students at Oakland High with their post secondary goals and planning.
