Jay brings his entrepreneurial background, financial acumen, and operational discipline to serve as the Senior Director of Finance & Operations at SRA. He graduated from Boston University with degrees in Economics and Business Administration with a concentration in Finance. His shift from corporate finance to work in early stage startups provided the learning experience to build a strong operational foundation and inclusive culture with limited resources. He believes Operators should have at least some context of what is happening across the organization in order to connect the dots between teams, understand potential consequences for everyone, and forge long-term policies and relationships that foster as much relevant cross-collaboration as possible.
While this is his first full-time position in non-profits, he has served as a volunteer analyst at Green Streets Initiative, a youth mentor at Silver Lining Mentoring, and a direct mentor to students via Build and 10,000 Degrees. Outside supporting SRA’s mission, Jay enjoys watching television (especially sports), traveling, cooking, and is exploring how much of a green thumb he truly has.
