Denisse Velázquez

Career Development Program Lead

Denisse Velázquez was born and raised in the South Bay. She attended Smith College in Massachusetts as a first generation college student and graduated in 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts in Latin American Studies and History. Working with historically under-represented students (first generation/low-income students and students of color) was central to her college experience and beyond. She has also worked with various Bay Area immigrant rights organizations, primarily serving youth in leadership development and organizing training because she is a firm believer in the power of youth to facilitate social change. She is a passionate advocate of justice and equity in education and feels blessed to be working with SRA in fulfilling its mission of comprehensively supporting students in getting to and through college.
