Events for Students

The Retreat:

Incoming high school juniors get away for a weekend with their Advisors to learn about the SRA program and how to get the most out of it. This is also the first chance the students have to meet other students in their class and to hear their stories.

Financial Aid and College Application Workshops:

SRA hosts a series of workshops to help students fill out their application for federal and state financial aid, outside scholarships, and apply to colleges. Workshops are held on Saturdays and students are given personalized attention and assistance.

BBQ & SRA GRADWalk

The annual summer barbeque is a casual event to celebrate graduations of both high school and college students. It's a chance for families, students, mentors, and supporters to catch up over a burger and potato salad. This year we are combining the BBQ with a 5K walk. This is a chance for mentors, corporations, and organizations to create teams, walk with the students, and enjoy a BBQ afterwards. The SRA GradWalk will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2012 in Golden Gate Park.  Registration begins at 10:00 a.m., the Walk begins at 11:00, followed by lunch and awards ceremony.  To register, create a team, or to learn more, please click here. Come join in the fun and meet our remarkable students.

Thank you to Wells Fargo for being our Presenting Sponsor and to the many community organizations and companies for lending their assistance. Your support helps us raise funds and community awareness in our effort to send more students through college.
