A Community of Support

We’d like to thank the following corporations, foundations, and medical professionals for their support of our students and program. Our students benefit greatly from the opportunities provided from summer jobs, access to health care, student workshops, and outside scholarships. Below is a partial list of our community partners. We are grateful for their belief in the potential of our students and for their generosity.

The list below does not include individual donors whose continued generosity has sustained SRA throughout the years. We are grateful for their support and limited space prevents us from including them in this newsletter. For a list of recent individual donors, please contact us and request our 2007 Annual Report.

ANNUAL GALA, WEDNESDAY MARCH 25, 2009
5:30 PM, Ritz-Carlton, San Francisco

Join us for one of our favorite evenings of the year – the Annual Gala. This evening celebrates and honors our remarkable students. The SRA Gala raises essential funds to send our students to college and to increase the number of students selected into our program. Over the past five years, proceeds from this event allowed us to triple the number of students selected and to expand student program services. With your help, the sixth Gala celebration will continue a tradition of making dreams come true for deserving students.

Visit our website to purchase your tickets online and view auction items: www.studentsrisingabove.org. See you there!

Selection of the 2010 Class

Do you know a hard working high school JUNIOR who has the grades and the desire to attend college but may not have the family nor the financial support to make that dream a reality? If so, we’d like to know about that student.

Our outreach efforts include contacting 700+ high schools across the 11-county Bay Area in search of students who have the potential to attend and graduate from four year colleges and universities. Students may apply online through our website: www.studentsrisingabove.org. Click on the Scholarship button to learn more about the qualifications and the process for consideration. The application deadline is April 4, 2009.

SRA – Student Profiles on CBS – KPIX, Channel 5.
From January through March you can see profiles of our students in 90 second vignettes on CBS-KPIX. Borel Bank & Trust, PG&E, Union Bank, and Wells Fargo have generously underwritten these student profiles in our efforts to raise community awareness and support for our remarkable students. Thank you these companies for their leadership and to CBS for their community support.
