Students Rising Above is grateful to have a wonderful and dedicated group of volunteers. Before becoming a mentor, all applicants meet one-on-one with a member of the mentoring team for a short, casual interview. This is an opportunity to answer your questions, introduce you to the programs, and ensure that the role is a good fit.
After the meeting, the next step is to complete a straightforward background check process. This is done in order to verify identity, protect our students and volunteers, and to maintain compliance. SRA uses Verified Volunteers, an online background check platform, to perform the screening. It takes approximately 5-10 minutes to complete, and follows best practices in data security. All volunteer personal information is kept private. Applicants will be emailed an invitation to the Verified Volunteer platform after having completed their initial in-person meeting.
