Why should I join the Leadership Council?
This is an opportunity to join a select group of people in sharing their expertise, networks and resources to help extraordinary students achieve their dream of a college education. In support of your contribution, and to inspire your ideas and creativity, SRA will share with you the latest activities, accomplishments, and results of our students as we build our program.
What is the time commitment?
The time commitment for each member will vary depending upon the project undertaken or the SRA committee a member joins. Some members will meet regularly in conjunction with an established SRA committee or effort; others will not meet at all. Your role will determine the amount of time you want to spend in support of SRA.
What is my role as a member of the Leadership Council?
Members are invited onto the Leadership Council based on their skills, talents, and interests. Accordingly, your responsibilities will depend upon the project or effort you select. For example, you might: 1) provide expertise on a project or committee; 2) fill a particular role; 3) make a specific leadership contribution; or 4) serve as the liaison with your organization or corporation. The possibilities are expansive.
Will the Leadership Council meet?
Your participation on the Leadership Council will not require you to attend meetings. At some future time, at the Council's initiative, there may be an annual event or meeting.
Is there a financial expectation if I join the Leadership Council?
No, there is no financial expectation associated with joining the Council. This is not a fundraising body. The Leadership Council is an investment of time, energy, and resources to help us build community support.
Will my name be listed in any SRA materials, website?
Yes, we would like to include your name as a member of the Leadership Council and anticipate including the information on our website and published materials.
Can I recommend friends/colleagues to the Council?
Yes, please do. You may make your recommendations to Caryl Cechettini, Chair of the Leadership Council and Board Vice Chair, or Jennifer Kockos, Director of Development, or Lynne Martin, Executive Director.
How long would I serve on the Leadership Council?
The Council is designed to accommodate a variety of skills, interests, and time demands. Accordingly, your membership term is customized. How long you serve on the Council will depend upon your interests and willingness to serve.
What materials will you provide to promote SRA?
We will provide the materials needed to assist you in your efforts, including, but not limited to: Annual reports, programmatic metrics, financial information, and published student stories as appropriate. As an ambassador for SRA, we want to keep you informed, and we are available to support you as required.
