"Regardless of what I went through as a child, I want to become an educated person and give back to my community. I want to be able to help others like myself who have been in and out of the Foster Care system and encourage them to never give up." Jacob Hernandez, Freshman, UC Davis

The Best Investment You'll Ever Make

Students Rising Above graduates are completing college at a 90% graduation success rate and on average within 4.5 years.  By contrast, national statistics show that  first-generation, low-income students accepted into a four year college have a much lower completion rate -- only 37% complete degrees within six years.

Our students and graduates are giving back to their communities - over 70% of our students are engaged in community service or are working in professions helping others.  These college graduates are the next generation of employees and leaders who are making a difference in our communities.

We estimate that for every dollar invested in Students Rising Above there is at least a $4 return to society in terms of higher taxes (resulting from higher earned income), and lower reliance on social welfare, and public healthcare systems.

Now consider that there is a 93% chance that a student will enroll in post-secondary education if at least one parent holds a B.S. degree. An investment is Students Rising Above not only benefits the students currently in the program but also has generational benefit.  That's a return on your investment now and into the future.
